This two-day course has been structured to offer an overview of
SATCOM systems engineering fundamentals. The course is designed for the Technical and Logistics Specialist, Communications Engineers, SATCOM Engineers and other Project Management personnel. Emphasis will be provided on the application of emerging technologies to current and proposed DoD MILSATCOM systems.

- Frequency allocations
- Orbital characteristics
- Communications payload design
- Access techniques (FDMA, TDMA, CDMA, DAMA)
- Modulation and coding techniques (BPSK, QPSK, 8PSK)
- Earth terminal architecture
- Antenna, transmit, receive, CMA, and baseband subsystems
- SATCOM control systems
- Propagation effects (rain, scintillation, nuclear)
- Fundamentals of link analysis
